Roth, of Milford, died Sunday, November 9, 2003, at BryanLGH East Medical Center in Lincoln at the age of 79 years1 month and 17 days. He was born September 23, 1924 on a farm near Chappell, Nebraska to Abe and Mary (Gasho) Roth the oldest of six children. When he was five years old, his mother died and he moved to Wood River to live with his grandparents where he attended country school. As a young boy he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized at Wood River Mennonite Church. Later Robert was united in marriage to Grace Troyer on September 16, 1945 at West Fairview Mennonite Church near Beaver Crossing, Nebraska and to this union five children, Diane, Charlotte, Terry, Lonnie and Robert Jr. were born. They made their home briefly in Wood River until they moved to the farm near Beaver Crossing area where they were long-time farmers, hog and cattle feeders. Robert became a member of Bellwood Mennonite Church in Milford on April 9, 1995. He was a quiet, compassionate gentleman and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and in his spare time he enjoyed baseball and playing horse shoes. In 1997, they retired from farming and moved to Linden Village in Milford. Robert is survived by wife Grace, Milford, daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Gene Stutzman, Lincoln, Charlotte and Russ Roth, Milford, sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and JoAnn Roth, Lincoln, Lonnie and Charlotte Roth, Lincoln, Robert Jr. and Barb Roth, Lincoln, 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, brother and sister-in-law, Delmar and Evelyn Roth, Wood River, sisters, Josie Pankoke, Beaver Crossing, Agnes Daughtery, Colorado Springs, CO, several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Abe and Mary Roth, two brothers, Chet and Ed, and sister, Irene. A Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, November 12, 2003, at Bellwood Mennonite Church in Milford with Rev. Marlin Kym officiating. Interment at Milford Mennonite Cemetery. Casketbearers: Jason Roth, Todd Stutzman, Jered Roth, Brent Roth, Aaron Roth, Corey Roth, Bryan Roth, Tyram Stutzman, Adrian Roth. Honorary Pallbearers: Abe Roth, Amber Roth, Charnel Graber, Roxie Blowers, Destiny Roth.
