Description	:	Robert R. Stankee, age 87, of Wheatland, died Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at Wheatland Manor Nursing Home.He was born Oct. 3,1921, in Davenport, Iowa, to Paul W. Stankee and Florence Stevenson. He married Dolores "Dotty" Shelton in 1948. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Wheatland with the Rev. Lynne Bisson officiating. Burial will follow services. His body will be cremated with inurnment in Pine Hill Cemetery, Wheatland, at a later date. Robert graduated from Wheatland High School in 1939. He attended business college and Spartan School of Aeronautics and worked for Bendix Aviation in Philadelphia until he joined the Air Force during World War II. He served most of the time in China-Burma-India Theatre at an Airforce base near Calcutta till his discharge in 1946. From 1946 until retirement in 1984, he was part owner of P.W. Stankee Company, Inc., a farm equipment wholesaler and retailer. His hobbies included boating on the Mississippi River. He and Dotty spent a lot of time on their boats especially their houseboat. His other hobby was painting. He entered a lot of art shows from 1980 on and has won a lot of awards. Survivors include his wife, Dolores; son, Bob (Jacque) of Camdenton, Mo.; daughter, Jana (Jeff) Goettsch of Lowden; six grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Paul and Glen; and sister, Shirley
