Robert Raymond Wilson, was born in Ogden, Iowa on September 26, 1922, the son of Robert W. and Harriet (Tilley) Wilson. He served the United States Navy and the Merchant Marines during World War II. Robert Raymond Wilson, was born in Ogden, Iowa on September 26, 1922, the son of Robert W. and Harriet (Tilley) Wilson. He served the United States Navy and the Merchant Marines during World War II. On June 12, 1948, Robert married Geneva Lycke in Boone, Iowa. From 1958 to 1984, Bob owned/operated Wilson’s Tavern in Boone. He later worked as a ‘greeter’ at the Boone Walmart, retiring in 2012 at the age of 90. Bob was a member of the American Legion Post #56, and a past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, formerly in Boone. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, gardening with Geneva, mushroom hunting, jigsaw puzzles, reading, especially westerns, and watching old western movies on TV. Bob was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. He is preceded in death by his parents; sons, James and Robert A. Wilson; brothers James and Paul; sisters Mary, Margaret, and Evelyn; Bob is survived by two daughters, Theresa Brown and husband Robert of Bondurant, and Susan Wilson of Luana; two brothers, Norbert Wilson of Baltimore, Maryland, and John Wilson of Colorado Springs, Colorado; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Norman Lycke and wife Corky of Oswego, Illinois; and sister-in-law, Viola Lycke of Boone.
