Description	:	Robert Raymond Schnare, age 77, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away April 15, 2001 in the South Shore Regional Hospital with his family by his side. Robert was born in Lunenburg and was a son of the late Derry and Mary Viola (Falkenham) Schnare. Robert served overseas in the Royal Canadian Navy aboard the H.M.C.S. Uganda both in the Pacific and the Atlantic. After the war he joined the Merchant Marines serving on the Lady Rodney, bringing back war brides. Read More	Robert Raymond Schnare, age 77, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away April 15, 2001 in the South Shore Regional Hospital with his family by his side. Robert was born in Lunenburg and was a son of the late Derry and Mary Viola (Falkenham) Schnare. Robert served overseas in the Royal Canadian Navy aboard the H.M.C.S. Uganda both in the Pacific and the Atlantic. After the war he joined the Merchant Marines serving on the Lady Rodney, bringing back war brides. He later worked for 36 years at National Sea Products Ltd., Lunenburg Division, until his retirement. He was a member of the St. John's Anglican Church, Lunenburg. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends who were so important in his life. He is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, the former Frances Wamboldt, daughters Janet and her husband William Latter and Valerie Grondin, both of Lunenburg, sisters Betty and her husband Linwood Fraelic, Lilydale, Patsy and her husband John Hirtle of Clearland, Audrie and her husband Douglas Hill, Northwest, grandson Derry and his fiancé Sonia, Middle Sackville, uncle Allan Falkenham, Lunenburg, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father and mother, stepsister Margaret, and stepbrother Harry. Visitation was held Wednesday April 18, 2001 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. 3, Lunenburg from where funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2001. Rev. Irving Letto officiating. Eulogy was given by neighbour William Cluett. Scripture was read by Rev. Steve Hiltz. Solo, "Beyond the Sunset" was rendered beautifully by Rev. James Haughn. Organist, Elaine Wamboldt and choir sang, "I Feel the Winds of God Today" and "How Great Thou Art". Interment was in Martin's Brook Cemetery followed by a reception at the funeral home to renew treasured acquaintances with family and friends. Pallbearers - Wayne Nauss, Kevin Vickers, Wendall Wamboldt, Larry Wamboldt, Brian Wamboldt, and Peter Wagner. With thanks to Lana Veinotte.
