Robert, 58, of Elizabeth, entered eternal rest on October 1, 2019 in University Hospital in Lafayette. He was born February 21, 1961 in DeRidder to the union of Henry Delbert Strother and Robbie Lee Fee Taylor. He was a Baptist by faith, a truck driver in the timber industry, and a 1979 graduate of Pitkin High School. Also, he was a loving husband, father, son and friend. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Delbert Strother and Robbie Lee Fee Taylor. Those left behind to cherish his memory are: his wife, Melodie Lynn (Pruett) Strother of Elizabeth; 3 sons, Shane Strother of Ten Mile, Robert Strother, Jr. of Elizabeth, and Jody Moore of Elizabeth; 2 daughters: Ashlie Strother of Oakdale and Debra Strother of Elizabeth, La.; 4 sisters: Debra Coker and Shannon Hilton both of DeRidder, Quinn Baham of Lake Charles and Annette Ruiz of Texas; 1 brother, Roger Strother of Cravens and six grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday October 3, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday October 4, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel.
