He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Eileen Burke (April, 1987); a sister Vivian Rickels; 4 brothers Virgil, Raymond, LeRoy and Delbert Kula. Robert S. Kula was born March 11, 1929 in Prairieburg, Iowa. He was the son of Raymond and Emma Holub Kula. Robert attended school in Prairieburg and Central City. Robert and Eileen Burke were united in marriage on February 17, 1955 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Anamosa. He served in the United States Army as a sergeant during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Anamosa for more than 30 years. Robert can be remembered as a hard worker that loved to stay busy. He farmed most of his life and was part owner or Be-Right Plumbing for many years. When Robert wasn't working, one might remember seeing him in his truck, enjoying a cup of coffee and the scenery, down by the Wapsipinicon dam in Anamosa. Robert enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and gardening. He was a loving Son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be missed dearly by those closest to him.
