He was the eldest child of William and Jane (Henry) Sampson and was born in Tipton county January 15, 1870. He lived in Tipton county until 1886, moving to White county where he grew to manhood. Read More	Kokomo Tribune, Kokomo, Indiana, Monday, 24 Nov 1947, Page 17, Deaths and Funerals: ROBERT SAMPSON -------------- Robert Sampson, 77, died at his home in Ervin township at 4:10 o'clock Sunday morning after an illness of seven weeks of heart complications. He was the eldest child of William and Jane (Henry) Sampson and was born in Tipton county January 15, 1870. He lived in Tipton county until 1886, moving to White county where he grew to manhood. In 1903 he came to Howard county with his parents and had resided on the same farm since that time. April 8, 1909, he was united in marriage to Fanny Spraker who preceded him in death October 2, 1922. To this union one daughter, Mildred (Mrs. Ted Miller) was born. He is survived by one sister, Clara Shell of Holly, Colorado, who visited him shortly before his ddeath. Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death. He leaves also two grandchildren, Paul and Alice Miller, of whom he was extremely fond. Mr. Sampson was a member of the Shiloh church, but was a regular attendant at the Judson church after the death of his wife. Funeral services will be held at Judson church at 1:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, with the Rev. Mr. Cubel of Judson officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh cemetery beside the wife. The body will be returned from the Rich funeral home to the home in Ervin township where friends may call after 2 o'clock Monday afternoon. ---------------------- Additional information for this memorial was provided by Graham, June/2012.
