Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, at Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, 1931 Houser St., Muscatine. Lodge No. 2 AF & AM will officiate. Casket bearers will be nephews, Mike Curtis, Scott Curtis, Mark Curtis, Randy Welsch, Kevin Carter, and Rick McDaniel. A private burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery following the service. Mr. Curtis was born Aug. 23, 1930, in Muscatine County, the son of Charles and Leona (Fowler) Curtis. He married Ruth Ann McDaniel on June 15, 1957, in Lamars. Robert owned and operated the John Deere Dealership and Plow and Pedal Inc. from 1973 to 1989. He served in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed golfing and loved his numerous friends. He was a member of Iowa Lodge No. 2 AF & AM of which he was a Past Master in 1965, Davenport Consistory, Elks Lodge No. 304, and Moose Lodge No. 388. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ann; one brother, C. Richard Curtis, and his wife, Donna, of Muscatine; one sister, Rosalie Yerington, and husband, Jim, of Fruitland, Iowa; several nieces and nephews; and maternal aunts, Mary E. Wagner, of Muscatine, and Lois Hines, of Coralville, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Roy Curtis. No relation
