ANTHONY- Services for Robert Steele Gaunt, 68, who died Monday at Marshalltown Area Community Hospital, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Clemons United Church of Christ with the Rev. Dan Grauberger in charge Burial will be in the Clemons Cemetery. He was born Feb. 12, 1912, in LaPorte, Ind., the son of John and Edna Steele. At the age of two he was adopted by Martin and Bernice Gaunt of St. Anthony. He spent his early life and received his education at St. Anthony. He later farmed for 50 years in the area and was a school bus driver for 27 years. He was married to Ruth Ridgway Oct. 11, 1932, in Marshalltown. His widow survives, also three children, John (Jack) Gaunt, Cabot, Ark.; Carol (Mrs. Don) Adams, West Des Moines, and Diane (Mrs. Steven) Sutherland, Marshalltown; three brothers, Edwin Steele, LaPorte; Ralph Steele, Tustin, Calif., and Jack Steele, Los Angeles, also nine grandchildren.
