Mr. Ferguson passed away at 9:30 o'clock Thursday evening in Citizens hospital, from a broken back sustained in the accident. Mr. Ferguson, as near as could be ascertained, had started down the draw with a full load of logs, and the brakes on his wagon failed to hold and the wagon overturned. Whether Mr. Ferguson jumped and was run over by the wagon or whether he was injured when the wagon overturned is not known. Pat Alden discovered the accident and Mr. Ferguson's injured condition and he was brought to the hospital here in the Midnight Mining Company's truck. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Wilkes chapel, with Rev. White and the local Masonic lodge in charge. Burial was in Red Butte Cemetery. Surviving Mr. Ferguson are his wife, Mrs. Jennie Ferguson, a daughter Miss Aileen Ferguson, a son, Donald Ferguson, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Ferguson, who reside in Ireland. Mr. Ferguson was born in Sterlingshire, Scotland. When he first came to the United States he worked at Harris, Mo., and in 1915 came to Pitkin County, entering the employ of J. D. Bruton at the Glendale stock farm. Later, he entered the ranching and stock business for himself. Mr. Ferguson was a member of the Masonic lodge here and had a large number of friends in the community.
