Description	:	Robert William Russell was born Aug 15, 1918, in Buena Vista county near Storm Lake, to Lloyd E. and Florence Davis Russell. He passed from this life on April 1, 1979, at an Omaha, Neb. hospital at the age of 60 years, seven months. He received his education in the Storm Lake schools graduating in 1935. In December, 1942, he was inducted into the U. S. Army Air Force and served for four years during World War II. He was honorably discharged in December, 1946. He was a partner in the Wilson Russell Corn Company of Sac City and later president and general manager of this company when known as P A G Sac City Schaller Inc. When this company was sold to W. R. Grace, he continued to serve as manager until December, 1971. At the time of his death, he was employed by the Shull Ford Mercury Company of Sac City. Robert was a faithful and conscientious supporter of his community and church. He was a loyal member of the Early United Methodist church where he served for four years as chairman of the administrative board. He will be greatly missed by the community of Early where he was beginning the fourth year of his term as mayor. He was a member of St Elmo Masonic Lodge, Early Lions Club, the American Legion Post 325, and was a past commander of the American Legion Cantigny Post 195, Sac City Preceding him in death were his father and two brothers, Harlan and Verlyn.
