| Description | : | Robert W. Dowell, 84, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011, at Lane County Hospital in Dighton. He was born Oct. 21, 1926, in Dodge City, to David Peeler and Edith Rebecca Mather Dowell. He graduated from Dighton High School in 1944. On March 8, 1947, he married Charlene McCoy in Dighton. She survives. In 1948, Mr. Dowell rented his first land and began his own farming and ranching operation. He served in the U.S. Army.
