Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at Grace Lutheran Church in Le Mars with Reverend Tim Geitz officiating. Interment will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars with a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Visitation will continue Wednesday morning at the church from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Pallbearers will be Brandon Coover, Joe Cooper, Adam Cooper, Joel Kruse, Roger Amick, Mark Mann, and Darin Amick. Robert Wesley Coover Jr. was born May 22, 1952, in Sioux City, Iowa to Robert W. and Frances L. (Johnson) Coover. Bob was raised in Sioux City and graduated from Sioux City Central High School in 1972. Following high school Bob worked at a local bakery and later went to work for Old Home Bakery in South Sioux City for 12 years. Bob was united in marriage to Janette Kruse on February 26, 1988 at Grace Lutheran church in Le Mars. Bob and Janette were blessed with a son, Brandon. In April of 1990, Bob began working for Wells' Dairy. Bob spent most of his career working at the North Ice Cream Plant on the - gallon line. Bob was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church. He was a dedicated member volunteering wherever needed. He also served as an usher and trustee for several years. Bob enjoyed bowling and for the last couple of years bowled league with Brandon. He enjoyed watching sports from football (Hawkeyes) to NASCAR. He enjoyed following the career of Jeff Gordon. Bob also liked to follow the Chicago Cubs during baseball season. As many people know, Bob loved to visit. He enjoyed talking sports and just visiting with family and friends. His sense of humor will be greatly missed by many. Survivors include his wife of 24 years Janette of Le Mars; his son, Brandon of Le Mars; 5 siblings: Norma Comstock of Sioux City, Florence Palmer of Sioux City, Mark Coover of North Glenn, CO., Shirley Stidd and her husband Jack of Nebraska City, Nebraska, and Linda Howell and her husband George of Palmyra, NE; a brother-in-law, Darrell Amick of Sioux City; special nephews: Roger Amick, Joe Cooper, and Adam Cooper; in-laws: Mary Ann Johnson and her husband Kraig of Grand Haven, MI, Wayne Kruse and his wife Lynette of Le Mars, and Sharon Kruse of Le Mars; and several nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert W. and Frances L. (Johnson) Coover; a sister, Roberta Amick; 2 brothers-in-law, Bill Palmer and Roger Comstock; and his parents-in-law, Verda and Urban Kruse. [Source: Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars, Iowa]
