Description	:	Robert W. "Bob" Gilroy, 81, died at 4:13 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2009 at the Lima Memorial Health System. He was born Jan. 8, 1928 in Lima to Gerald E. and Goldie F. (Thompson) Gilroy. On May 5, 1947, he married Esther L. DeLong and she survives in Alger. Also surviving are a son, Wesley A. (Jean) Gilroy of Lima; a daughter, Faye E. (Tom) Dilts of Ada; six grandchildren, Renee Manns, Wesley Gilroy, Jason Gilroy, Joe Gilroy, Paul Gilroy and Sherry (Kyle) Hintz; 13 great-grandchildren and several adopted grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles (Donna) Gilroy of Wapakoneta and a sister,... He was preceded in death by a son, Robert D. Gilroy; a granddaughter, Jenny Webb; a sister, Betty Molina; a brother, Merle Gilroy and a mother-in-law, Floellen DeLong. He retired from Westinghouse Electric Company of Lima after 37 years. He worked in the fabricator and layout departments. He was a member of the Alger Assembly of God Church for 53 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Alger Assembly of God Church by the Revs. Herb DeLong and Randall C. Wilson. Burial will be in the Preston Cemetery, Alger, with military graveside services by the Ada VFW Post 9381 Honor Guard. Source: Kenton Times
