Through working with Utah Relatives, the Miami Indians in Miami County, Indiana, and the LDS, it has been determined that one of our cousin's grandmother wanted to be related to the Miami Indians so bad that when the Indians were looking to add people to increase their government income levels they received, she entered information into the LDS files that was not true. Robert purchased land in Ohio on 18 Oct 1811 listing Virginia as his residence. He served in the Miami County Ohio Regiment on three occasions during the War of 1812: May 1-5, Aug 24-Sep 23, and Oct 24-Nov 13. He married Sarah Ann Dickson (born in 1797, South Carolina) on 7 Jan 1813 in Newton Township, Miami County, Ohio. He purchased additional land in Newton Township, Miami County Ohio on 4 Oct 1817 and again on 29 Feb 1820. In 1839 he moved his entire family to what later became Beaver Township, Pulaski County, Indiana. He built the first hewed-log cabin in Sec 35 Beaver Township which stood until it was taken down in 1880. He became one of the largest landowners during that era in the township and participating in civil matters as the township developed. He died in September, 1863 and was buried in an unmarked grave in the Clark Cemetery, Liberty Township, White County, Indiana which is not too far from his farmland in Pulaski County. His son, Robert White, Jr. and Mary Ann Curtis were the first white settlers married in Beaver Township, Pulaski Co. In. in 1839 and their daughter, Lovey White Thrasher was the first white child born there in October 1840.
