He was born in Pinto, MT., a son of George B. and Elizabeth Traub. He grew up on Bay Horse Creek, attending Huckins School and worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps during the 1930's. He married Velna Richards on June 6, 1945. in Broadus. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Judy Thormock of Butte, and Nancy Stillman of Sacramento, CA, a son, Robert W. Traub Jr. of Belle Creek; two brothers, Charley of Broadus and Francis I of Big Horn, WY.; and nine grandchildren. Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Broadus. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. David's Catholic Church. Burial in the Valley View Cemetery, Broadus, MT.
