She was Clinton County spelling bee organizer, chariman of the American Heart Association for 20 years, on the Clinton County Board of Health, Clinton County School Board, "Mother of the Year" in Clinton County and runner-up "Mother of Year" for the State of Iowa, Chairman of Ladies Farm Bureau, Clinton and Chairman of DeWitt Republican Women's organization. Survivors include three sons; eight grandchildren: six great-grandchildren; one sister. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister and an infant brother.
