Description	:	Roberta Lee Krchnavy was born February 4, 1945 at Fremont, Nebraska, the first child of Robert and Alice (Engel) Krchnavy. The family lived on a farm near Lucas at the time and when Roberta was still a small child they bought a farm northeast of Gregory. Here Roberta began her education at Lone Tree school. A sister Karen soon joined the family. Roberta learned the farm life and she drove tractor for her father as she grew older. Roberta graduated from Gregory High School and entered college, graduating with a teaching degree from Black Hills State. She taught... Read More	Roberta Lee Krchnavy was born February 4, 1945 at Fremont, Nebraska, the first child of Robert and Alice (Engel) Krchnavy. The family lived on a farm near Lucas at the time and when Roberta was still a small child they bought a farm northeast of Gregory. Here Roberta began her education at Lone Tree school. A sister Karen soon joined the family. Roberta learned the farm life and she drove tractor for her father as she grew older. Roberta graduated from Gregory High School and entered college, graduating with a teaching degree from Black Hills State. She taught one year at Wood High School and then she and her sister decided to make a trip to Alaska. While in Alaska she met Don Howard and they were married. They spent their winters in Texas and then back to Alaska for the construction season. To this union two boys were born: Jesse and James Howard. The family had bought a motel in Alpine, TX and when Roberta and Don divorced Roberta continued to operate the motel for a time. She and the boys then moved to Utah. Roberta returned to Gregory to help care for her parents. She married Joe Schwaller and they separated after a few years. Roberta then married Norman Scholz an acquaintance from high school. After the death of her parents Roberta continued to live in Gregory. Roberta was baptized and confirmed into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on September 24th 1976. She was a member of the Winner Branch at the time of her passing. She passed away on July 12, 2011 at the age of 66 years after a short illness. She was preceded in death by her parents.
