Description	:	Roberta M. "Bobbe" Cusick, 83, of Lincoln, passed away on Wednesday September 29, 2010. Born on February 27, 1927, the daughter of Robert and Ella (Brimacombe) Zorn in Ames, Nebraska. Bobbe married James R. Cusick on July 18, 1945 and her family lived primarily in Fremont, until moving with family to Lincoln in 1967. "Bobbe" Cusick, 83, of Lincoln, passed away on Wednesday September 29, 2010. Born on February 27, 1927, the daughter of Robert and Ella (Brimacombe) Zorn in Ames, Nebraska. Bobbe married James R. Cusick on July 18, 1945 and her family lived primarily in Fremont, until moving with family to Lincoln in 1967. Spunky, vibrant, social, talkative, dependable, opinionated, caring and passionate are all words that are commonly used to describe Bobbe's zest for life and active lifestyle. In addition to being an avid Husker fan and season ticket holder for over 60 years (football) and 40 years (basketball). Bobbe enjoyed the Lincoln Symphony, Lied Center performances, Jazz in June, movies at the Ross Theatre and various book clubs. Never one to take a backseat in her role as an organizer, she was always active in many aspects at Saint Peter's Catholic Church, Friendship Force, Aspen Neighborhood Association, Heritage League and Senior Striders. She believed in staying healthy and was an active member of the Lincoln Racquet Club until last year participating in aerobic, step and toning classes, lifting weights, walking a 17-minute mile on the treadmill and serving as an inspiration for others, both her age and much younger. Throughout Bobbe's life, especially in the last 20 years, volunteerism was an important aspect of her daily calendar and no paid staffer was more dependable or dedicated than Bobbe when it came to scheduled meetings, events and commitments. Even in her last weeks, Bobbe volunteered at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital, Matt Talbot Kitchen, Meals on Wheels and at St. Peter's weekly Perpetual Adoration and in the Gift Shop. Bobbe loved to travel and took many international trips with Friendship Force, traveled often in the US independently or with family and for many years was an active Elder Hostel traveler. As recently as June 12 she traveled to California with five of her family to attend her granddaughter Morgan's college graduation and spent a couple of days in Big Sur along the coast with daughter, Janet. Survivors include: two daughters, Mary Wilhelm and Janet Cusick Jost and son-in-law Gary Jost; son, Nick Cusick and daughter-in-law, Ann Cusick; granddaughters, Morgan Wilhelm, Jennifer Rawlinson and husband Jeff Rawlinson, Sara Flanagan and husband Dave Flanagan, and Merici Vinton; and great granddaughters, Kate Rawlinson, and Molly Flanagan. Bobbe's death will allow her to join: husband, Jim (1983); granddaughter, Courtney Cusick (2002); sister, Thelma Verbeek (2002) and a whole host of family and friends. Funeral Mass on Monday, October 11, 2010 at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Interment at Calvary Cemetery. Obituary information from the Lincoln Journal Star.
