Description	:	Roberta O. "Bert" (Hunt) Lockwood, 83, formally of Ossian, Indiana, passed away on Monday, November 29, 2010, at the Minnesota Masonic Home in Bloomington, Minnesota. Affectionately known as "Bert", she was born on September 2, 1927 in Bluffton, Indiana. She graduated from Lancaster High School in Wells County, Indiana in 1945. She was married for 58 years and the beloved wife of Roger J. Lockwood; he survives at age 87. "Bert" (Hunt) Lockwood, 83, formally of Ossian, Indiana, passed away on Monday, November 29, 2010, at the Minnesota Masonic Home in Bloomington, Minnesota. Affectionately known as "Bert", she was born on September 2, 1927 in Bluffton, Indiana. She graduated from Lancaster High School in Wells County, Indiana in 1945. She was married for 58 years and the beloved wife of Roger J. Lockwood; he survives at age 87. She was a dedicated nurse for many years in hospital surgery, industrial medicine and rehabilitation care. As a working mother, she juggled the duties of career and family long before it became acceptable to do so and handled both with competence and grace. She was a gifted athlete. She enjoyed bowling, golfing and fishing. She was an extraordinary cook and left behind a treasure trove of recipes and cookbooks. She was a faithful member of the Ossian Methodist Church. "Most of all Bert loved her family and took special delight in the antics and accomplishments of her grandsons. She had a special relationship with each of her children and their spouses giving of her time, attention, wisdom and delightful sense of humor. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know and love her." Also surviving are her three children, Steve (Annie)Lockwood of Austin, Texas, Kevin (Lily) Lockwood of Bloomington, Minnesota and Karen Lockwood of Austin, Texas;, four grandsons, Charlie, Steven, Nathan and Justin Lockwood; and many treasured nieces, nephews and other members of the Hunt family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Eva (Bowman)Hunt; sister, Bernice (Hunt) France; and four brothers, Gaylord, Leon, Wayne and Loren. A family memorial service was held on Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at Masonic Home Chapel in Bloomington, Minnesota. Published in Fort Wayne Newspapers on December 12, 2010
