Dosch died at 3 o'clock, Thursday afternoon at his farm home at Strasburg after an illness of about six months. Born April 15, 1866, in South Russia, he was married to Dionesia Volk on February 14, 1888 at the town of Selz. They came to America in 1893, first locating in Campbell County, South Dakota, where the pair found work for $5 a month. They worked there for 4 years and then came to Emmons County, settling on a homestead two miles east of Strasburg. He later bought a farm adjoining the town site and had resided there ever since. Besides his son S. R., he is survived by his wife and eight other children. They are Mrs. John Schneider, Steelman, Sask., Can.; Mrs. Joseph Burgard, Aberdeen; Mrs. Mike Schumacher, Ipswich; Michael a radio musician at Springfield, Mo.; Mrs. Frank Rohrich, Mrs. Jack Schneider, Mrs. Ray Wagner, and Rochus R. Dosch all of Strasburg. He also leaves 47 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in February 1938. Funeral services were held in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Strasburg, Sunday morning where over a thousand relatives and friends came to pay their last respects. Pallbearers were Rochus, Sebastian and Michael Dosch, Jack Schneider, Joseph Burgard and Ray Wagner. Burial was in the church cemetery.
