In addition to his mother, he is survived by his ex-wife, Chris Nelson of Cleveland, Ohio; daughters and sons-in-law, Christy and Bucky Hart of Tennessee, Krista and Clinton Carter of Michigan, Alesha and Josh Thomas of Charleston, Jessica Nelson and companion, Dave Schlund, of Cleveland, Ohio, and Julie and Josh Date of Cleveland, Ohio; one son, Jacob Edward Nelson, still at home; nine grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandy and Hobert Conley of Ripley, Kaye and Jerry Cook of Blair, Lou and Freddy Terral of Van, Dee and Rodney Thurmond of Barrett, and Ashley McGuire and companion, Scott Lawrance, of Barrett. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, at Stevens Funeral Home, Madison, with the Rev. Roger McCauley officiating. Burial will follow in Elkins Cemetery, Hewett. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
