Apfel Funeral Home of Wood River is in charge of arrangements. Stevens was born June 12, 1909, at Polk to Jamier and Signe (Norman) Stevens. At an early age, he moved with his family to Garden County. He graduated from Goodview High School. On March 8, 1938, he married Birdella Dawson at Shelton. They lived in Western Nebraska and Colorado where Stevens raised wheat and cattle. They later moved to Shelton. He was a member of the Baptist Church at Polk. Survivors include his wife of Shelton; daughters, Marilynn and Marjorie and sons, Robert of Omaha and Richard of Grand Island; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister and an infant son. Honorary Casket Bearers: Grandsons, Scott, Don and Mark Interment: Shelton Cemetery.
