Description	:	Rodney R. Kantor died Monday, December 30, 2013 at his home in Norfolk, Nebraska. Rodney was born on November 28, 1948 to Charles and June (Timperley) Kanter at Lutheran Community Hospital, Norfolk, Nebraska. Rodney grew up in Battle Creek. Rodney attended and played football for Battle Creek High School and graduated in 1967. Rodney entered the United States Navy on January 2, 1968 serving until November 4, 1971. Rodney was born on November 28, 1948 to Charles and June (Timperley) Kanter at Lutheran Community Hospital, Norfolk, Nebraska. Rodney grew up in Battle Creek. Rodney attended and played football for Battle Creek High School and graduated in 1967. Rodney entered the United States Navy on January 2, 1968 serving until November 4, 1971. After receiving his Honorable Discharge, Rodney moved to Norfolk, Nebraska. He went to work for Model Electric as an apprentice electrician and eventually became part owner. Rodney was the President of Model Electric at the time of his death. On June 5, 1977 Rodney married Denise Dederman at First Congregational Church of Christ, Norfolk, Nebraska. Of his many notable accomplishments, Rodney would speak proudly of his past position as the President of a national trade association, ABC (Associated Builders and Contractors). He loved to spend time at his cabin at Walker Valley in Crofton, NE, to travel and he was an avid Husker Football fan. Rodney is survived by: sons and their families; Brian and Sarah Kanter, of Lincoln; Clint and Angie Kanter, of Firth; and Chase Kanter and his fiancée Sarah Leuschen, of Lincoln; life partner Linda Aadland, of Norfolk; siblings, Jim and Barb Kanter, of Minneapolis, MN; Pam Barry, of Norfolk; and Becky and Bob Reisdorff, of Seward; and grandchildren, Kourtnie, Ashlyn, Addison, Krew, Logan, Jadyn and Koen. Rodney was preceded in death by: parents, wife Denise Kantor on April 1, 2009 and sister Linda Kantor in infancy. Funeral services for Rodney R. Kanter, were at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Victory Road Assembly of God, Norfolk, Nebraska Pastor Randy Novotny will officiate. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Norfolk, Nebraska.
