Description	:	Following hospitalization of six weeks, Roelf Jacobs, Lennox, died at Canton-Inwood Hospital on Tuesday, May 11, 1993. He attained the age of 90 years, 10 months and two days. Roelf Jacobs was born on a farm north of Lennox, SD, on Jul. 9, 1902, the son of Jacob Henry and Swantje (Bossman) Jacobs. He grew up there and attended Lennox public schools. Following their marriage they farmed in the Lennox and Harrisburg vicinity. He also did repair work and welding. In the fall of 1992 they moved into Lennox, where they had since lived. His death ended a marriage of over 68 years. Besides his parents,he was preceded in death by three brothers: Henry Jacobs, Herman Jacobs and Lambert Jacobs; three sisters: Katie Knock, Gertrude Lier, and Grace Dannen, who died May 4, 1993. Grateful for having shared his life are his widow, Anna; his son and daughter-in-law, Floyd and MaryLou Jacobs of rural Worthing; two grandchildren and their spouses: David and Betty Jacobs, and Bonnie and Norm Solem, all of Canton; two great-grandchildren: Janelle and Mitchell Jacobs; one sister, Mrs. Edna Sherman of Sioux Falls.
