Description	:	Rogene Cora Howe, 90, of Central City, formerly of Aurora, died Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, at Long Term Care in Central City with family by her side. Rogene Cora was born June 2, 1921, in Central City to Henry Arthur "Art" and Ermyl D. (Fogland) Roark. Rogene grew up in Central City and received her education in Central City Schools. Read More	Rogene Cora Howe, 90, of Central City, formerly of Aurora, died Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, at Long Term Care in Central City with family by her side. Rogene Cora was born June 2, 1921, in Central City to Henry Arthur "Art" and Ermyl D. (Fogland) Roark. Rogene grew up in Central City and received her education in Central City Schools. On Nov. 25, 1938, Rogene C. Roark and Ronald C. Howe were united in marriage in Omaha and were blessed with 52 wonderful years together. They made their home in Central City, where Ronald worked with his father. Shortly thereafter Ronald entered the Army and Rogene and their daughter, Sharon, lived with Ronald's parents, Floyd and Bertha Howe. While fighting in World War II, Ronald earned the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. The couple made their homes between Aurora and Central City where Ronald worked for Red and White Grocery and Safeway store. In 1990, Ronald was admitted to Long Term Care in Central City, passing away on Dec. 12, 1990. Rogene continued to live in Central City and moved into Long Term Care in 2006. Rogene was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Central City and a member and past president of the VFW Auxiliary in Aurora. Rogene was crowned Miss Central City of 1937. Given the honor of Miss Central City, Rogene partook in the christening of the Highway 14 Platte River Bridge. Rogene's goal in life was to praise God, honor her husband, and devoted her life to raising their three children. She cherished every moment of time spent with her grandchildren. In addition, she also cherished her loving pets, Mitzi and Dodi, along with her many beautiful flowers. She will be remembered by her many fishing adventures with her husband and grandchildren. She was known for her beautiful smile, faithful friendships, and a tender heart. Rogene was preceded in death by: parents, Henry Arthur "Art" and Ermyl D. Roark; husband, Ronald Howe; grandson, Anthony "Tony" Howe; sister, Elaine Roark Anderson; and brother, Thomas Roark. Survivors are: children, Sharon K. and Gary Jones of Central City, Roger V. and Beverly Howe of York and Ronald "Doug" and Susan Howe of Hastings; and sister-in-law, Jean Roark-Dahlsten; grandchildren, Lisa Jones-Dickinson, Stacey and Lani Jones-Sawyers, David and Shauna Howe-Becker, Anjanette Howe, Eric and Chris Howe, Heather Howe and granddaughter-in-law, Stephanie Howe, wife of the late Anthony "Tony" Howe; and 14 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
