Read More	Roger Alan Mather 83, of Ames passed away March 27, at his home in Ames.Roger was born November 11, 1931 in Ames to Lawrence and Dorothy (McLaughlin) Mather. He graduated from Ames High School in 1949. On June 2, 1951 Roger was married to Norma Evans. He worked for Allen Motors prior to joining the Army. Roger served his country from October 21, 1951 until October 22, 1953. After his time in the military Roger farmed in the Collins and Colo area until October of 1959 when he went to work for John Deer Des Moines Works, Roger was a General Supervisor when he retired in 1986. Roger had a great sense of humor and was quite the prankster. He enjoyed Sprint Car racing, sports and was a true animal lover. Roger is survived by his wife Norma of Ames; one daughter Marilee (Patrick) Cayo of Loveland, CO.; two sons, Mark (Cathy) Mather of Ames, and Brett (Angie) Mather of Ankeny. four grandchildren; one great grandchild; one sister, Audrey (Denny) Morton of Norco, CA. and nieces and nephews.Roger was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Rodney Mather; two brothers, Richard and Hugh Mather; one sister, Mary Carol.
