Description	:	Roger Alan Sveen was born at Beresford, SD on Aug. 11, 1931 to Moody and Ethel Johnson. He was adopted as a child by Hans and Enga Sveen. Roger graduated from Viborg High School and entered the military service and served our country for two years. He was united in marriage May 12, 1953 to Marcene Joyce Jacobs of Lennox, South Dakota. Roger graduated from Viborg High School and entered the military service and served our country for two years. He was united in marriage May 12, 1953 to Marcene Joyce Jacobs of Lennox, South Dakota. The couple resided in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Roger was employed by Sioux Finance for a number of years and in 1966 he joined Blue Cross/Blue Shield as an account executive until retiring in 1985. Roger and Marcene spent their retirement years in Sun City West, Arizona. Roger enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Roger had been a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church in Sioux Falls and currently was a member of Desert Palms Presbyterian Church in Sun City West. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael Lee, birth parents, adoptive parents, sister, Pearl, brother Russel and father and mother-in-law Herman and Matilda Jacobs. Roger is survived by his wife Marcene, five children: son, Jay Sveen and his wife Melissa, their children, Jared, Stephanie and Daniel of Lincoln, NE; daughters: Jody Kusek and her husband Ed, their children, Adam, Amanda and Alex of Harrisburg, SD; Jean Wold and her husband, Randy of Sioux Falls, SD and their daughter, Katie Wold of Scottsdale, AZ; Joan Kurus and her husband John, their children, Noah and Hailey of Queen Creek, AZ; Julie Sveen, her friend Matthew Schwartz and her daughter Adrianne DePauw of Sioux Falls, SD as well as other relatives and friends.
