Description	:	Roger G. Buckley, 80, of 1511 Greenwood Drive, died at 1:25am Nov 5, 2010, at Hospice House in Ottumwa. He was born Dec 10, 1929, in What Cheer to Frank and Margarette Jacobs Buckley. He married Patricia Thomas on Aug 15, 1950. A graduate of Ottumwa High School, he served in the U.S.Army from 1954-56. Buckley, 80, of 1511 Greenwood Drive, died at 1:25am Nov 5, 2010, at Hospice House in Ottumwa. He was born Dec 10, 1929, in What Cheer to Frank and Margarette Jacobs Buckley. He married Patricia Thomas on Aug 15, 1950. A graduate of Ottumwa High School, he served in the U.S.Army from 1954-56. After returning from the service, he delivered for Coca-Cola, worked at John Morrell and Co. and Red Heart Kennels. Roger worked 35 years at John Deere Ottumwa Works as an inspector, in data processing and retiring as a maintenance painter. He was a member of Davis Street Christian Church and UAW Local #74. Roger loved sports, coaching Pee-Wee, Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball. He also enjoyed fishing, following OHS athletics and was an avid Cubs fan. Surviving are his wife, Patty; two sons, Steve Buckley of Ottumwa and David Buckley of Fremont; three grandchildren, Jennifer(Austin)Norris of Oskaloosa, Michael(Jessica)Buckley of Pella and Eric(Jayna)Buckley of Liberty, MO; three great-grandchildren, Camden Lee, Ashten Lynne and Hayden Michael; and a sister, Elva Lou(Jack)Warner of Ottumwa. He was preceded in death by a brother, Max Buckley; and a sister, Mildred E. Locke. Funeral services will be 10am Monday at Davis Street Christian Church; the Rev. James H. Wakelin officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery with military services conducted by O.B.Nelson Post #3 American Legion and Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars. Visitatin will begin after 10am Sunday at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 2-4pm Sunday. Memorials may be made to Davis Street Christian Church or Hospice, Ottumwa, Iowa.
