He was born Jan. 14, 1915, in Switzerland County, the son of George W. and Bertha E. Detraz Reed. He lived in Switzerland County his entire life, and was a farmer. Read More	Madison Courier---July 17, 2006 Roger Henry Reed, 91, of 288 Green Valley Road, Vevay, died Saturday, July 15, 2006, at his home. He was born Jan. 14, 1915, in Switzerland County, the son of George W. and Bertha E. Detraz Reed. He lived in Switzerland County his entire life, and was a farmer. He had farmed his farm on Green Valley Road for 65 years. He also was a school bus driver for the Switzerland County School Corp. for 35 years. Early in his life he worked in construction at Jefferson Proving Ground. He enjoyed tilling his land, raising cattle, hunting and trapping. He was a member of the old Braytown Christian Church and attended Union Baptist Church in Lamb. He is survived by his wife, Edith Reed, whom he married June 5, 1937; two sons, Robert W. "Bob" Reed and Paul Roger "Sonny" Reed, both of Vevay; three granddaughters; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Harriet E. Miller on Oct. 19, 2002, and Ruth King in 1993; and one grandson. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay. Burial will be in Vevay Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Union Baptist Church or the Hospice of King's Daughters' Hospital. Contribution cards are available at the funeral home.
