Born in Wenona, he was a son of the late Stanley and Helen Daniels Hoffman. His wife, Rosalie Hoffman, died in 1984. Hoffman was a judge for the Orphans' Court in Somerset County for 12 years, a boat builder, carpenter and storekeeper. He was also a World War II Army veteran. Read More	OBITUARY: Roger Hoffman Sr. - Wenona - Roger Hoffman Sr., 81, of here died Monday, June 12, 1995, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born in Wenona, he was a son of the late Stanley and Helen Daniels Hoffman. His wife, Rosalie Hoffman, died in 1984. Hoffman was a judge for the Orphans' Court in Somerset County for 12 years, a boat builder, carpenter and storekeeper. He was also a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of Deal Island-Chance Lions Club and St. Paul United Methodist Church in Wenona. He attended Church of God of Prophecy in Chance and Faith Independent Church in Wenona. His survivors include four children, Helen Faye Pianka of Princess Anne, Beverly Walters and Roger Hoffman Jr., both of Deal Island, and Robert Allen Hoffman of Wenona; two sisters, Natalie Truitt of Salisbury and Alice Hoffmann of Glen Burnie, Md.; one brother, W. Wilson Hoffman of Wenona; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A son, William Hoffman is deceased. A sister, Mava Scroggs, and a brother, Stanley Hoffman Jr., are also deceased. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Faith Independent Church in Wenona. The Rev. Linwood Benton will officiate and Pastor Richard Vance will assist. Interment will be in St. Paul's United Methodist Church Cemetery in Wenona. Friends may call at Jolley Memorial Chapel on Deal Island tonight from 7 to 9 or at the church Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. (The Daily Times, Wednesday, 14 June 1995, p. 10)
