Swartout Glick, who preceded him in death. On April 16, 1948, he married Christina Slaven, who survives in Lima. They were married 62 years. Mr. Glick graduated from Lima Central High School in 1945. Swartout Glick, who preceded him in death. On April 16, 1948, he married Christina Slaven, who survives in Lima. They were married 62 years. Mr. Glick graduated from Lima Central High School in 1945. He was an Army veteran, serving in the Korean War during the police action and was honorably discharged April 6, 1947. After 37 years, he retired from Standard Oil Lima Refinery as a supervisor in the instrumentation department in 1986 at the age of 58. Together Roger and Christina enjoyed trapshooting and won many trophies, including Roger ranking eighth in the world at the Grand American Trap Shoot in 1968 in Vandalia. He was an avid model HO train enthusiast. He enjoyed golfing in leagues in Lima and Fort Myers, Fla. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State University Buckeyes. After retirement he and Christina spent 20 years wintering in Fort Myers, Fla., where they had many close and dear friends. He enjoyed many years of fishing at Lake Erie. To all who knew him, he was an inveterate story and joke teller. He was president and served on the Davis Woods Condominium Association board in Fort Myers, Fla., for many years. He received recognition of 50 years of membership of Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio Lima Lodge 205. He was a 32nd degree Mason Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton for 50 years. He was a member of Lima Shrine Club. In June 2006, by order of the United States Power Squadrons Governing Board, he was recognized for 50 years of membership and service. He served on the National Executive Board and was a past district commander of District 29 of the United States Power Squadrons. For 54 years he served in several offices, including commander of the Lima Squadrons and attained the rank of navigator. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275 Lima. He was a life member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 54, Lima. He was a 21-year member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370, Lima, and was a member of American Legion Post 96. Survivors also include a daughter, Dr. Christina D. Walton, of Ashland; a son, David P. (Carole R.) Glick, of Lima; three granddaughters, Heather Christina Stanquist, of Portland, Ore., Kaitlyn M. Glick and Monica R. Glick, both of Lima; and a sister, Elinor (Harold "Butch") Lammers, of Lima. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold R. Glick. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Home, Shawnee Chapel. Father David Ross will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, with military rites.
