Description	:	Roger Ray Whitwer, son of Ralph and Irma (Brandstetter) Whitwer, was born July 20, 1949, at Tilden, NE. Roger , passed away, February 12, 2012, at his home in Tilden, NE. Roger grew up in the Tilden community, and graduated from Tilden High School in 1967. Roger served his country in the United States Army from 1968 to 1970, and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. Following his Honorable Discharge, Roger returned to the Tilden area, where he was an active cattle order buyer. Read More	Roger Ray Whitwer, son of Ralph and Irma (Brandstetter) Whitwer, was born July 20, 1949, at Tilden, NE. Roger , passed away, February 12, 2012, at his home in Tilden, NE. Roger grew up in the Tilden community, and graduated from Tilden High School in 1967. Roger served his country in the United States Army from 1968 to 1970, and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. Following his Honorable Discharge, Roger returned to the Tilden area, where he was an active cattle order buyer. Roger loved spending his time at the sale barns throughout northeast Nebraska, attending cattle auctions. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church and American Legion Post 170, both of Tilden. Roger is survived by: sisters, Jane (Dean) Bretschneider of Springview, Nebraska, and Judy (Dennis) Pelster of Burwell, Nebraska and a host of relatives and friends. Roger was preceded in death by: parents, Ralph and Irma Whitwer; and brothers, Ronn and Ken Whitwer. Burial was in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Tilden, NE. with military honors will be conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #7603 and American Legion Post 170, both of Tilden.
