He was raised on the family farm near Tea, SD and received his education at Washington High School. Roger entered the United States Navy in November 1948 and was honorably discharged in 1949, and served in the Navy Reserves until 1955. He was raised on the family farm near Tea, SD and received his education at Washington High School. Roger entered the United States Navy in November 1948 and was honorably discharged in 1949, and served in the Navy Reserves until 1955. Roger was united in marriage with Ruth Aschoff February 3, 1953 in Tea, SD. The couple made their home on the family farm and remained on the farm his entire life. Roger ran the bar in Tea, SD for his father from 1951 until 1955 then went to work at the Sioux Falls Stockyard, Greenlee-Meilman Packing and Minnehaha Country Club retiring in 1997. Roger loved hunting, fishing, laughing, and spending time with his family and friends. In his retirement years, he enjoyed watching the geese and ducks that had made his pond their home. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Ruth Craig, Tea, SD; five children, Van (Judy) Craig, Lennox, SD, Pam (Dan) Lund, Sioux Falls, SD, Kim (Randy) Johnson, St. Louis, MO, Mike (Mavis) Craig, Tea, SD, Charley (Karla) Craig, Raleigh, NC; two sisters, Margaret Hoffman, Harrisburg, SD, Vanette Satlak, Scottsdale, AZ; 16 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Roger was preceded in death by two sisters, Phyllis Keating, Candace Adler; brother, Charles Craig and his parents. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to St. Nicholas Catholic Church Building Fund, Tea, SD.
