Description	:	Roger Wayne David, 65 years of age, of Kearney, Nebraska (formerly of Bertrand, Nebraska) passed away on Monday, December 1, 2008 at his home in Kearney. Roger was born August 21, 1943 at Holdrege, the seventh of thirteen children of Everett "Bud" and Retha (Geer) David. He received his education at Loomis, Nebraska, graduating from Loomis High School with the class of 1961. Kowalsky... Read More	Roger Wayne David, 65 years of age, of Kearney, Nebraska (formerly of Bertrand, Nebraska) passed away on Monday, December 1, 2008 at his home in Kearney. Roger was born August 21, 1943 at Holdrege, the seventh of thirteen children of Everett "Bud" and Retha (Geer) David. He received his education at Loomis, Nebraska, graduating from Loomis High School with the class of 1961. Following his education, Roger served his country in the United States Army from August 4, 1964 until his honorable discharge on August 3, 1966. On August 6, 1966 he was united in marriage to Jane E. Kowalsky at San Antonio, Texas and to this union five children were born: Todd, Cassie, Troy, Roger and Katie. They resided in Denver, Colorado, where Roger was employed in the parts department for General Motors. He then managed a service station in Lakewood, Colorado and also worked in construction hanging drywall from 1971 – 1975. Roger then began a long career in livestock feed sales, selling for Moorman Manufacturing. In June of 1977 the family moved to Nebraska and resided in Bertrand, where Roger continued his work in livestock sales until 1996. He continued working in various fields of sales until his retirement and move to Kearney in July of 2008. Roger was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church in rural Smithfield, Nebraska until transferring his membership to Family of Christ Lutheran Church in Kearney. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #67 in Bertrand, member of the Masonic Lodge in Holdrege and while in Colorado he served as a volunteer fireman. Roger's hobby was spending time with his grandchildren, he especially loved spending the holiday events with the family. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Jane of Kearney; three sons: Todd David and his wife, Carla of Gibbon, Nebraska, Troy David and his wife, Gretchen of Brady, Nebraska and Roger Michael David and his wife, Mandy of Stromsburg, Nebraska; two daughters: Cassie Rider and her husband, Shane of Burlington, Colorado and Katie Wiseman and her husband, Tom of North Platte, Nebraska; thirteen grandchildren: Ella, Julia, Samson, Kamryn and Gannon David, McCrae and McClane Rider, Trevor and Elizabeth David, Reese David, and Sierra, Tommy and Michaela Wiseman. In addition, he is survived by his ten siblings: Dwayne David and his wife, Donna of Newark, Ohio, Elaine Schell of Holdrege, Bonita Sturgis and her husband, Everet of Axtell, Nebraska, Paul David and his wife, Pat of Russell, Kansas, Johnnie David and his wife, Harriett of Longmont, Colorado, Mary Johnson and her husband, Ed of Alma, Missouri, Larry David and his wife, Cindy of Stromsburg, Retha Jo Luttrell of Ft. Collins, Colorado, Peggy Piepanbrock and her husband, Eric of Phoenix, Arizona and Mike David and his wife, Trish of Holdrege; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two twin brothers: Richard and Ronald David; sisters-in-law: Betty and Lois; and brothers-in-law: John Schell and Randy Luttrell.
