Description	:	Roland E. (Cotton) Eaton, 72, of 1825 Zimmer Street, died Thursday at his home. A former millright and member of the First United Methodist Church, he was a lifetime member and former commander of the D.A.V. Chapter 40, also VFW Post 1380, American Legion Post 11. Serving in the U.S. Army in World War II, he received the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, Silver Star and the Legion of Merit. He served as captain. He is survived by his wife, Mamie R.; daughter, Mrs. Richard (Colleen) Clark, California; two sons, Thomas E. Reffitt, Lancaster, and Roland E. Eaton, Perrysburg, Ohio; son-in-law, Paul Stiverson, Lancaster; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Burdelle Stebelton, Lancaster, Mrs. Lewis (Norene) Neier, Lake Placid, Florida, and Mrs. Marvene LeCompt, Clearwater, Florida. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Myrna Jo Stiverson. Military services are tentatively set for Monday in the chapel of the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home; burial in Maple Grove Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday and Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. DAV memorial services will be Saturday, 7 p.m. The VFW and American Legion will hold services Sunday, 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
