Born June 16, 1904 in Rochester, Indiana, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Haimbaugh; and brother to 2 sisters and 2 brothers; all preceded him in death. Roland graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Chemistry. He was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. In 1929, Mr. Haimbaugh married Catherine Mae Ridgley and they lived most of their life in Munster, Indiana. His wife preceded him in death. While in Munster, he worked at Sinclair refinery in their research department. He received 2 U.S. patents. While in Munster, he was always active in his community. He held a perfect attendance in Lions Club, and became a lifetime member. He was also active in his church and was one of the six charter members of the Munster Presbyterian Church. Roland is survived by 2 sons, John W. and Roland, Jr. He leaves 3 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Boone Co. Foundation, 60 E. Cedar Street, Zionsville, IN, 46077. Services will be private, with no visitation. Arrangements by: Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center - Zionsville. Born in Rochester to Mr. and Mrs. John B. Haimbaugh, he was the brother of two sisters and two brothers. He married Catherine Mae Ridgley in 1929 and they lived most of their lives in Munster. She preceded him in death on Jan. 8, 1999. Mr. Haimbaugh was a graduate of Indiana University with a degree in Chemistry. He was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. While in Munster, he worked at Sinclair refinery in their research department. He received two U.S. patents. He was always active in his community. He held perfect attendance in the Lion's Club and became a lifetime member. He was also active in his church and was one of the six charter members of the Munster Presbyterian Church. Survivors include two sons, John W. and Roland Jr.; three grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and all his sisters and brothers. A private service is being held without any visitation at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center, Zionsville. Memorials may be made to Boone Co. Foundation, 60 E. Cedar St., Zionsville, IN 46077.
