Read More	Grandson: William Prince "Billy" Gibbs (1977 - 2020) ROLAND PRINCE GIBBS Roland P. Gibbs, 84, passed away March 22, 1998, at Independence Regional Center in Independence, MO. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, at Brady United Methodist Church, Brady, NE; burial in Gothenburg Cemetery. Roland was born November 20, 1913, to Ralph and Pearl Gibbs on their farm west of Stapleton, NE. In 1935, he moved to Brady, NE, where he met and later married June Doris Blede in the Brady Methodist Church. After their first daughter Patricia Elsie (Weiskirch) was born they moved to Wichita, KS, where Roland's career as an aircraft machinist was initiated. Roland had two more children, Penny Ann (Elliott) and William Frank Gibbs. He was a member of Epworth Methodist Church, where he helpedHecontinued into his retirement years when he completely restored a 1913 and a 1917 Model T Ford. On September 6, 1997, he completed a dream of driving a restored Model T Ford into the sandhills north of North Platte, NE, to the Dismal River, an area he enjoyed while growing up. Roland was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, June Doris of Buckner, MO; a brother, Victor of Morgantown, KY; two daughters, Pat E. (Dan) Weiskirch of Buckner, MO, and Penny A. (Royce) Elliott of Oklahoma City, OK; and a son, Bill (Martha) Gibbs of Kansas City, MO; six grandchildren, Rob (Amy) Weiskirch, Dorian, Dustin, and Devin Elliott and Bill and Rose Gibbs;and one great-granddaughter, Robyn Weiskirch. Roland was most admired for his diligence, his patience, his steadfast faith in his Lord, in his intelligence and his quietness. If the world were full of men like him we would have heaven on earth.
