Description	:	He was born on his family's farm in Dickey Co.N.D. the son of Gustave and Helena Hasse. He went to country school in rural N.D. In 1955 he studied to become a certified diesel mechenic and travelled to Chicago to take his final exam and recieve his diploma. He was drafted into the Army in 1956 and spent time at Ft. Chaffee, Ark. before beining sent to Germany. He was discharged in 1958 and returned to N.D. He began a career in constrution and and followed jobs west moveing to Kahlotus,Wash. in 1964 While Lower Monumental dam was being built.... He began a career in constrution and and followed jobs west moveing to Kahlotus,Wash. in 1964 While Lower Monumental dam was being built. He bought some acreage at the east end of town. AS if constrution work and farming weren't enough to keep him busy he started his own business R.Haase Repair. In the early 1970's the constrution of the Alaska oil pipeline drew him to North Slope of Alaska, where he spent many years as master mechanic. After he retired from constrution he continued to farm and also did part time contract work for Haron Const. operateing a crane and building bridges. He is survived by his daughter Tamie(Vince) Sottero, Carnation,Wash.; two grandchildren, 3 brothers Leonard (Shirley)Haase, Edward(Bev) Haase, Harold(Mary) Haase, and sisters Agnes Raugutt, Violet Nell,& Leah Nicholson.
