Read More	On Friday, October 23, 2020, Rolland “Brodie” LeRoy Mosman, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away peacefully at the age of 88 in his Boone, Iowa home with the love of his life, Delores Jean Mosman, and other family members by his side. Rolland “Brodie” Mosman was born on June 6, 1932, in Carroll, Iowa to Joe and Elizabeth (Reck) Mosman. He grew up in Carroll and then moved to Boone and opened his own business. Mr. Mosman served in the United States Army serving in Japan from February, 1957, through August, 1958. Brodie made his reputation as a mechanic (vehicles, trucks, boats, etc.) and owned his own business in Boone, Iowa called Brodie’s Truck Service for 22 years. He was a faithful member of the Catholic Church. Brodie and Dee retired in Mountain View, Arkansas spending their days together enjoying the warmer winters, building their dream home on 8 acres of timber land they called Bro-Dee Acres, and making new and lifelong friends. They spent almost 25 years down there until moving back to Boone in 2017 to be closer to family again. Brodie will be remembered for his quick wit and humor, loving and kind spirit, and his generous heart. He was a true gentleman and an example to many. His passion was tinkering in his large shop repairing, building, woodworking, and making something useful or beautiful out of almost anything. He made 73 doll cradles to give to little girls including granddaughters and great granddaughters as well as every little girl in their church in the Mountain View, Arkansas area. His other passion was spending time with his many family members who would go down to Arkansas to visit or meeting them in Branson, Missouri for a long weekend. He taught his grandkids and great grandkids to drive, make bird houses, fish, chop wood, and did many other fun activities with them. Brodie was preceded in death by his father and mother, three brothers, one sister, and one step son. He is survived by his loving wife Delores, two brothers (“Speck” and Don), two sisters (Lorraine and Ollie), his children, 14 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 11:00am at Boone Memorial Gardens, Boone, Iowa under the direction of Schroeder-Stark-Welin Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Mrs. Delores Mosman and family, 715 Ringold St, Boone, Iowa 50036.
