Description	:	Rollin J. Tindall, 76, of rural Akron, died early Thursday, April 27, 2006, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City. Rollin Jay Tindall was born Jan. 29, 1930, in Akron, the son of J. Clark and Cleo (Gabel) Tindall. He was baptized into the Christian faith at the Adaville United Brethren Church. He attended the Tucker School, rural Akron, through the 8th grade and graduated from Akron High School in 1947. Clark and Cleo (Gabel) Tindall. He was baptized into the Christian faith at the Adaville United Brethren Church. He attended the Tucker School, rural Akron, through the 8th grade and graduated from Akron High School in 1947. In 1951, Rollin received at bachelor of arts degree from Indiana Central College (University of Indianapolis) with a major in Biblical and Religious Studies. Rollin joined the United States Marine Corps in 1951. He was stationed at San Diego, Calif., Cherry Point Air Station, N.C., Quantico, Va., and for close to two years at the Marine Barracks in Washington, D.C. While stationed in Washington, D.C., Rollin served as a Supply Sergeant and performed with a ceremonial group for funerals at Arlington National Cemetery, parades, and greeting foreign dignitaries upon arrival at the airport. Rollin was united in marriage to Mary Alice Clark on April 27, 1952, at the E.U.B Church in Robinson, Ill. Upon his discharge from the Marine Corps, Rollin and Mary moved to a farm near Akron. Rollin farmed and fed cattle for many years. After retiring they continued to make their home on the farm near Akron. He was a lifelong member of the E.U.B./United Methodist Church. He sang in the choir for years, served as Youth Fellowship leader, and volunteered wherever needed within the church. Rollin loved his family, his church, and his farm. He was very proud of his family. Rollin will be remembered for being hardworking and generous and will be missed by his family and community. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Mary of rural Akron; two sons: Clark Tindall and his wife, Nancy and their daughter, Katherine of rural Le Mars, and Dr. Craig Tindall and his wife, Beth and their daughter, Anika of San Ramon, Calif.; a daughter, Jill Tindall of Davenport; five aunts, Mildred Hunter and Lois Tindall of Le Mars, Mary White and her husband, Lin of Santa Clara, Calif., Eva Brown and her husband, Kenneth of Le Mars and Virginia Tindall of Tulsa, Okla.; four sisters-in-law and spouses, Avis and Leon Fjestad of Grand Forks, N.D., Lela and John Lofland and Hulah and Charles O'dell. all of Crawfordsville, Ind., and Lola and George Piersall of Robinson, Ill.; an uncle, Charles Bell of Prescott, Ariz.; and numerous, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, J. Clark and Cleo (Gabel) Tindall and a brother, Corbin, who died in Vietnam while serving his country in 1969. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the United Methodist Church of Le Mars with the Rev. Mike Janes officiating. Interment with military honors provided by the Albert E. Hoschler American Legion Post #186 of Akron will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, rural Merrill. Pallbearers were Jason Philips, Kevin Netley, Dean Rowe, Cecil Yoder, Trygve Olund, Dr. Robert Embree, and Stanley Anderson
