He was born May 1, 1894 in Tecumseh and had lived in Shawnee County all his life. He was a sales representative for the National Biscuit Co. in the Topeka area 37 years and retired in 1959. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a 50-year member of Siloam Lodge No. 225, AF&AM. He was married to Julia Dent Hanna in Topeka on Mau 1, 1923. She survives.
