Description	:	Ronald C. Jacobson, age 90, of Clay Center, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at Cambridge Place Nursing Home in Marysville. Ron was born April 24, 1930, to Robert E. and Hannah D. (Steenson) Jacobson. He attended the Harbaugh School south of Waterville. Jacobson, age 90, of Clay Center, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at Cambridge Place Nursing Home in Marysville. Ron was born April 24, 1930, to Robert E. and Hannah D. (Steenson) Jacobson. He attended the Harbaugh School south of Waterville. He and his twin brother Don started a custom harvesting and hauling business. Later he served in the US Army and was stationed in San Francisco, California, during the Korean War. Returning home from the army he found a place west of Waterville where he farmed for the next 30 years. On October 28, 1956, he married Rosetta M. Koeneke at the Lutheran Church in Hanover. Rosetta passed away in 2015. Later they moved to Abilene where they owned and operated the Kansas Lumber and Hardware store. Ron was a very caring and helpful man. He was also very much a family man; nothing pleased him more than having a houseful of family to entertain. He served his community on the Township Board and as a 4-H leader and Fair Board Member. Ron enjoyed woodworking, building, and music. He even taught himself to play the guitar after retiring. Survivors include his six children: Michael C. Jacobson of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Marilyn M. (Tim) White of Marysville, Roger E. (Jeanne) Jacobson of Axtell, Gregory A. (Kathy) Jacobson of Ruskin, Florida, Halley (Jerry) Smart of Shawnee, Kansas and James D. (Tara) Jacobson of Wichita, fourteen grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Preceding Ron in death are his wife Rosetta, a son, Terry R. Jacobson, two brothers: Bernard Jacobson and twin brother Donald Jacobson, a sister, Phyllis Riddle, and a daughter-in-law, Reta Jacobson. Viewing is from noon to 8:00 pm, Sunday, with visitation between 4:00 and 6:00 pm, at Terry-Christie Funeral Home in Waterville. Graveside services are at 10:30 am, Monday, June 22, 2020, at Riverside Cemetery in Waterville, with Sister Mary Arie officiating. Music will include recorded selections of “How Great Thou Art,” “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Amazing Grace”. Casket Bearers are Brett Cox, Austin Jacobson, Keith Figge, Doug Jacobson, Randy Jacobson, and Luin Berger. Burial with Military Honors by Clement T. Farrel Post 306 of the American Legion in Hanover and a Military Honors Detail from Fort Leavenworth will be at Riverside Cemetery, Waterville. Memorials are suggested to the 4-H Youth Fund and may be sent in care of Terry-Christie Funeral Home at PO Box 61, Waterville, Kansas 66548.
