He graduated from Platte High School in 1952 and went on to serve his country in the US Air Force 36th Fighter Squadron from January of 1954 to January of 1958 stationed at Itazuke Air Force Base in Japan. Read More	Ronald Dale Sternburg was born on August 31, 1934 to Dick and Gertrude (Bogaard) Sternburg in Mitchell, SD. He graduated from Platte High School in 1952 and went on to serve his country in the US Air Force 36th Fighter Squadron from January of 1954 to January of 1958 stationed at Itazuke Air Force Base in Japan. On September 2, 1962 Ron was united in marriage to Peggy J. Brumbaugh in Platte, SD. He owned and operated Platte Produce and Creamery, was a Greens Keeper at Lake Platte Golf Club, delivered gas for Friendly Gas and was a Bus Driver. Ronald was a member of Olive Presbyterian Church and Campbell-Timmerman American Legion Post #115 of Platte. Ron enjoyed hunting – especially goose and fishing; he was also an avid Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan. Grateful for having shared in Ronald’s life: his four children: Ronda (Daniel) Haushild of Sioux Falls, SD, Rick (Jody) Sternberg of Platte, SD, Judy (Stephan) Chesley of Luverne, MN and Kerri (Eric) Meyer of Parker, SD; nine grandchildren: Rachel and Richard Sternberg (Molly Koester) of Platte, SD, Heather, Austin and Levi Haushild of Sioux Falls, SD, Alexa and Cassandra Chesley of Luverne, MN, Payton and Myles Meyer of Parker, SD; a sister, Barbara (Bruce) Palmer of Pullman, WA; along with several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Ronald was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy (July 24, 2001); his parents, Dick and Gertrude; two brothers: Dave and Howard; and two sisters: Verda and Carmen. From the Mount Funeral Home
