He was a member of the Parkview Freewill Baptist Church and he was also known throughout the area, as a classic car enthusiast. He is preceded in death by parents; son, Doug Bannister; three brothers, Roy and Earl Bannister and Bob Arndt; five sisters, Lucy Forshee, Christine Hardy, Golda Clark, Bess Sheppard and Erma Cook.
