Description	:	Ron Ueland lost his battle with cancer on October 18, 2021. Ron was born in Plentywood, Montana on May 28, 1938. He joined brother Kurt, mother Elna (Erickson) and father Kermit on the family farm. When Ron was 6 years old the family moved just east of Antelope where Ron would live most of his life. Ron graduated from Antelope High School in 1956. He attended MSU Bozeman where he received his BS degree in Construction Technology. Ron was born in Plentywood, Montana on May 28, 1938. He joined brother Kurt, mother Elna (Erickson) and father Kermit on the family farm. When Ron was 6 years old the family moved just east of Antelope where Ron would live most of his life. Ron graduated from Antelope High School in 1956. He attended MSU Bozeman where he received his BS degree in Construction Technology. Ron used this degree with the MT Department of Transportation in the engineering field. Ron joined the US Army in the fall of 1958. He was stationed in Korea where his son Dennis and grandson Curtis would later serve. While in Culbertson Ron met and married Ann Oelkers. Ron and Ann were a fun loving couple. From dancing to darts to their kids' ballgames to playing cards there was always something to do. Ron left his position in Culbertson with the Highway Department in the spring of 1973 and moved the family to Antelope so he could farm. In 1977 he and two others would start their own company called "Prairie Sand & Gravel." Ron would farm and help run this company for almost 10 years. Ron was very proud of his John Deere shop where he restored his Ford Model T. Ron was involved in many community organizations. He was a volunteer fireman, assistant Boy Scout leader, member of the church council both in Culbertson and Antelope, school board member, Shriners, president of the local highway union and also a union negotiator. He also served on the Antelope Water & Sewer Board and the Antelope Creek Cemetery Board. Ron is survived by daughter Cindy Burton, Antelope, MT; daughter Ginger (Jim) Volker, Stevensville, MT; grandchildren Loren(Jessica) Benth, Kristi Biddinger, Brittany Burton, Levi (Destiny)Burton, Curtis (Amy) Ueland, Crystal (Brian) Chase and Cammy (James) Howell; 11 great grandchildren; nephew Keith Ueland; and nieces Kathy Tangedal and Kendal Tangedal. Ron is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ann; son Dennis; daughter Barbie; son-in-law John Burton; brother Kurt and sister-in-law Adeline. Ron's wit and charm will be missed by so many.
