Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 22, at the First Presbyterian Church in Grimes, Iowa with burial to follow at Sunny Hill Cemetery in Grimes. Ron was born August 30, 1931, in Grimes, Iowa, to Hiram and Alene (nee Osterhout) Rosenberg. He married Jodean Sly on April 4, 1951 in Des Moines, Iowa. Ron was born August 30, 1931, in Grimes, Iowa, to Hiram and Alene (nee Osterhout) Rosenberg. He married Jodean Sly on April 4, 1951 in Des Moines, Iowa. They made their home in Grimes where they raised their two sons. Ron was a member of Teamsters Local #147 and later owned and operated JR Trucking, retiring in 2017. He served on the Grimes City Council in the early 1990's and was a 70+ year member of the First Presbyterian Church. Ron's love for car racing began at an early age when his father took him to his first car race in Des Moines and later to the Indianapolis 500. In the early 1950's he became owner of his first race car. He shared his passion for racing with his sons and their families until 2014. Ron is survived by two sons, Keith (Pam) Rosenberg and Denny (Rita) Rosenberg, both of Grimes; sister, Phyllis Rosenberg of Grimes; three grandchildren, Michelle (Mike) Mickle of Polk City, Iowa, Stefanie (Joshua) Wager of Grimes, and Kyle (Yvonne) Rosenberg of Granger, Iowa; and five great-grandchildren, Hannah and Haylee Mickle, Lincoln and Grace Wager, and Sawyer Rosenberg. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jodean, and his great-grandchildren, Maddie and Zoey Mickle. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 pm Thursday, May 19, 2022, at Iles Brandt Chapel in Dallas Center, Iowa.
