In light of the state wide mandate from the Governor concerning COVID-19 that was given on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 stating that no public gatherings over 10 people should take place, services are currently pending at Hope United Methodist Church in Marshalltown and more information will be given as we know more. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Ron and his family. Ronald Keller was born on August 18, 1946 in Brooklyn, Iowa to Arthur and Vera Hall Keller. He graduated from Brooklyn High School in 1964 then attended Iowa State University. Ron served his country honorably in the United States Army during Vietnam from June of 1968 until his honorable discharge in June of 1970. He was united in marriage to Jan (Powers) Ferguson in 2000. Ron was retired from Fisher Controls. He was a member of the Marshalltown Bike Club, the American Legion and Hope United Methodist Church. Ron spent many hours and took great pride in caring for his and his mother-in-law’s property. He was an avid Sprint Car and NASCAR fan, enjoyed bicycling and riding RAGBRAI for many years, loved reading, photography and coin collecting. Ron is survived by his wife, Jan; step sons: Jeff Ferguson and Todd (Leslie) Ferguson; grandchildren, and siblings: Carol (Dave) Henle and Marvin Keller, mother-in-law Jennie L. Powers, nieces and nephew and their children. Ron is preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Vera and his father-in-law Jerry Powers.∼Vietnam Veteran
