Ronald was born March 9, 1940, in Des Moines, IA, to Robert and Hilda (Drottz) McClelland. He married Shirley (Petersen) McClelland and together they enjoyed 59 years of marriage. Ron worked for Younkers for 47 years. He loved woodworking and built many miniature buildings, many of which were auctioned off for charity. He was a true master craftsman. Services will be held 4 pm Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at Franklin Township Cemetery in Santiago, IA. Ronald was born March 9, 1940, in Des Moines, IA, to Robert and Hilda (Drottz) McClelland. He married Shirley (Petersen) McClelland and together they enjoyed 59 years of marriage. Ron worked for Younkers for 47 years. He loved woodworking and built many miniature buildings, many of which were auctioned off for charity. He was a true master craftsman. RB was an incredibly hardworker with a very strong work ethic.He was very generous and always helped when asked. RB had a huge sense of humor and his sarcastic wit was inherited by all of his children and grandchildren. His joy was his family, especially his grandchildren. Ron is survived by his wife, Shirley McClelland; sons, John (Shawntel) McClelland of Altoona, IA, Jim (Julie) McClelland of Johnston, IA, Matt (Jennifer) McClelland of Rolesville, NC; daughter, Rhonda (Jeffrey) Rotert of Altoona, IA; brother, Richard (Jan) McClelland; grandchildren, Nick (Sarah) Rotert, Matthew (Lindsey) Rotert, Thad (Britney) McClelland, Dakota (Teresa) McClelland, Parker McClelland, Denver McClelland, Jonah (Caitlin) McClelland, Izabelle McClelland, Caden McClelland, Hunter McClelland; great-grandchildren, Raelynn Rotert, Levi Rotert. He was preceded in death by his parents andgrandchild, Jazmin McClelland. As the service is taking place at the cemetery, please bring a lawn chair for your own comfort. Contributions may be made to the family for a future memorial.
