Ronald Henry Lienemann, 82 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at the Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege. Ron was born June 23, 1932 at Randolph, Nebraska, the youngest of two sons born to Henry and Emma (Wachter) Lienemann. Ron received his primary education from District #27 in rural Randolph and District #38 in Wayne County, Nebraska. He then attended the Randolph High School. On April 11, 1963 Ron was united in marriage to Mary Lou Dixon at North Platte, Nebraska and she welcomed his two children: Lowell and Bonnie into her life. In addition, Ron lovingly accepted Mary Lou’s daughter, Debra as his own. Then to this union two children were born: Marceen and Robin. The family made their home in North Platte, Kearney, and Elwood before settling to Holdrege. Ron was employed as a farmhand for several years and then by Rockwell Manufacturing in Kearney. After moving to Holdrege, Ron was employed by Lloyd Waller Feedlot for 18 years until his retirement. Ron was a true cowboy at heart, and loved working a good team of horses. He enjoyed playing cards and tending to his yard. Most of all he loved the time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ron and Mary Lou enjoyed attending the Moses Hill Covenant Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Steve Lienemann. Ron leaves to mourn his passing; his wife of almost 52 years, Mary Lou Lienemann of Holdrege; one son, Lowell Lienemann and his wife, Lori of Houston, Texas; four daughters: Debra Hixson and her husband, Dave of Sidney, Nebraska, Bonnie Hughes and her husband, Joe of Las Vegas, Nevada, Marceen Waldher of Holdrege, and Robin Swearingen and her husband, Tim of Columbus, Nebraska; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one brother, Gene Lienemann and his wife, Margaret of Sidney; brothers-in-law, Wesley Dixon and his wife, Della of Wellfleet, Nebraska and Phillip Dixon and his wife, Corliss of Pleasanton, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Rebecca Dale and her husband, Dennis of Pleasanton; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held on Sunday, March 1, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege. A memorial has been established in Ron’s honor and will be designated at a later date. The Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege was charge of the arrangements.
